A mirror despised
My reflection shimmers
Behind my eyes
My disguise shatters within
Revealing, knowing
Withholding
What I’ve always been
Pushing back, with a smile
I keep it in
My reflection shimmers
And fades

I’m so thirsty
Dehydrated, parched
In this desert I’m searching
For something, anything
To soothe,relieve
My soul is starched
But then on the horizon
A shimmering reflection
An oasis
If it can be reached
Crawling through the despair
The oasis melts into the air
