Pictou is often referred to as the “Birthplace of New Scotland.” The arrival of the ship Hector laid the foundation for a Scottish community, whose influences can still be felt today in music, dance, and traditions.

This article about Pictou's replica #ShipHector is really interesting, as is its link to the Ship Hector society. What a harrowing 11 week journey the original made in 1773 from Scotland. I'd love to visit Pictou & do a Harbour tour in it when it's ready to set sail, (by 2027).
