Honestly my biggest takeaway from this clip is that Obama is very consciously elevating Mamdani (whom he cites unprompted as an example of the right way to do this) as a model while other top Dems still shirk him.
Obama: "What I'm more interested in for Democrats is, do you know how to just talk to regular people like we're not in a college seminar? Can you talk in plain English to folks? And not have a bunch of gobbledygook around it. Just talk like normal people talk. 'The rent is too high.'"

I am fine to do jury duty except (1) it is 45 minutes away at 7:00 in the morning, (2) I’m on vacation, and (3) even if I got into a selection pool, I would probably get booted anyway because I went to law school (what happened last time), so I will shirk in this case. Shirk shirk shirk!!
