Trivia: The script doesn’t actually start with the shofar blast (usually played in a trumpet) and “Prepare Ye”. It starts with a song that almost all productions (and soundtrack recordings) omit called “Tower of Babel”.

I put a shofar player on the matzoh cover on my Diaspora Seder Set because there was a time when I only had the Menorah next to the Christmas tree in the cafeteria/lunch room. If this piece of Judaica is ever called to hold up the entire tradition, the shofar is there as an extra clue.

One cool new thing my rabbi did this year was at the end of the Yom Kippur service, he invited everyone with a shofar up to the bimah. It was a real blow out.
