This is, admittedly, why with Shootlanzer, we the Munity team do make a point of steering people away from using "bullet hell" to describe Shootlanzer when talking to them. Danmaku/bullet hell is a very *specific* type of thing that Shootlanzer Is Not and Is Explicitly Not Trying To Be. (1/3)
anyway this issue doesn't matter and I'm just making noise because it's social media. but I can't help but wonder if the insistence that all shooters is bullet hell further pushes the shmup genre into "weird niche games for insane hardcore players only," even games that were pretty popular
