Do they mean shopfitting? I always get those shopfitting vans mixed up with shoplifting. Easy mistake to make.

They're great power tools, I remember when we first got one in the workshop in the late 1970s. Very time saving. We used them a lot in shopfitting.

My wife and I ran a shopfitting business for fifteen years
We closed it due to the onerous levels of reporting to HMRC and finally realising that we made substantially more money for the Chancelor of the Exchequer than we earned for ourselves

Years ago I did a study on the EF of a meat burger from a well known fast good outlet vs a vegetarian homegrown calorific equivalent. (Including packaging, shopfitting etc btw).
Homegrown/ cooked btoad beans spud & egg with mint tea was ONE SEVENTH the EF of the FF meal with coffee & fries.

I think it might be more the tenants doing the ML stuff. He doesn’t care as long as he’s paid his rent.
If you think about cost of set up, shopfitting, stock etc. plus sky-high rents you really do wonder why else somebody would run that kind of business in that way.
