When creating this artwork I wanted to explore how the different shop and pub frontages interact with each other. In particular the different shapes, colours and styles of the signage. I started this artwork by positioning the photographs on the sheet of paper.

The main change I have made is to remove the modern shop building with the archway next to it. This was because I feel drawing peoples’ eyes to a space behind the second row of buildings, could be a distraction from people viewing the top row of shops.
