Medium-sized sandpiper with scaled upperparts showing dark brown at the center of the "scales" with cinnamon and white edges. The crown in cinnamon with dark brown mottling, the bill is dull orange at the base with a darker distal half. Breast is buffy with dark brown streaking with clean demarcation to white belly. Legs and feet are slightly drab yellow. The subject is wading in water and a reflection is partially visible.

I love all the hashtags, and I'll participate whenever I see one. I live in landlocked Iowa, but I travel a lot. I could certainly post one from the coast.

Just to be contrary, here is a Wilson's Snipe in a marshy area in Boone county, Iowa.

A shorebird stands in water at the edge of a marshy wetland area. This medium sized brown and white bird has a very long beak and some buff colored stripes on head and back. The beak is really long, though this particular bird has it partially submerged as it hunts.
