#Showboating
It’s just a REALLY expensive “inside joke”
Thats what it feels like. A HUGE budget art house flick that the general public will HATE

But I liked it. It was weird as shit !!

‘Digger’ Review: Tom Cruise and Alejandro G. Iñárritu Are a Match Made in Showboating Hell in a Shallow Satire Insufferably Pleased With Itself
Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg and Jesse Plemons also star in this dark comedy about a blowhard oil tycoon facing a global catastrophe of his own making.

Idk maybe its the wealthy showboating inappropriateness of it all reminds me of someone else...

When listening to an entire Genesis or Yes album I am just exasperated that people of such obvious talent wasted so much of it on this indulgent showboating. It’s like the first few mins of "Heart of the Sunrise” is really good, why the next 25 fucking mins? 😭😅

It’s been a full year since we’ve heard from UV in the Transcripts blog. I wish I could read what he would think of all of this Hegseth showboating. It reminds me of Tsar Paul I who fussed over Prussian parade uniforms and drill, instead of practicality in the field.

OTD 1995 🇦🇷 🤜 🇧🇷

Edmundo’s Flamengo had gone 6-2 up on aggregate against Vélez Sarsfield to secure a semi-final spot in the 1995 Supercopa Libertadores, and began showboating.

Argentine defender Flavio Zandoná took exception to Edmundo’s attitude (one of many) and all hell broke loose.

For those who don’t know, during my service from ‘95-‘15 at least, the US mil went well out of its way to ensure mil members had the opportunity to vote on time w/ their hime State.

hegseth* isn’t doing something new here. Just being a showboating clown.

If I were a Republican coming back to work after losing my seat I might be a little more pissed off about this idiot showboating and decide Massie is onto something.

I'm sorry man I get the showboating shit-every comic Stan Lee ever wrote he promoted it like you would fucking reach Nirvana after reading it-but you are only gonna convince the must content slop eating dumbasses framing it as Come and See with Captain America
It’s probably because a lot of these movies are lit terribly these days

Exactly. knowing the showboating nonsense of the state legislators I bet at least some of those vetoes are for incomprehensible overreaching garbage.

You would’ve thought at least this time he would’ve ridden the bench, but then again, he wouldn’t be the showboating, glory-hog failure that he is at life if he didn’t snatch all the credit, except none of the blame, and fear the word accountability
October 2, 2026 at 12:29 AM
that's all i'll really add cause i feel like people online tend to get too deep in showboating about stuff like this in a way that feels disrespectful to the guy's victim and other victims alike and i don't need to add to that

like you're making their trauma into a circus act. feels a bit gross :v

Our courts and employment tribunals are now used as Colosseum's by showboating bigots to dehumanise trans witnesses. It's so bad, I expect many important, just cases will not be pursued by trans witnesses due to fear.
Our courts not only acquiesce, but encourage it. They cannot be 'neutral' on this.

The showboating was epic, though. Kennedy was chewing his gum faster and faster while waiting for the climatic moment to jump up and hold that idiotic collage up as proof of a conspiracy. It couldn't have been better if written for a really bad 80's comedy about high school.

Showboating at conference is meaningless when it’s followed by shilly-shallying. We’re going to ‘look at all the options’. We could ‘go all the way’. It’s typical Burnham, a form of words designed to please everyone, but which does nothing to inspire confidence in the EU. 2/

War, power games and impunity. I watched the farce that is the UN general assembly: what a tragedy, what a mess
UN general assembly meetings are not usually riveting occasions. But this year’s encapsulated a world in flux and crisis, an international law and organisation structure that is falling apart, and a humanitarian order machine running hot. What unfolded was less a gathering for resolution and resolve than a display of showboating, frustration and fractiousness. It was a snapshot for the history books of four huge destabilising conflicts for which there seems to be no means of, or interest in, resolution – Ukraine, Iran, Palestine and Sudan. Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered an account of five years of Russian aggression: the staggering loss of life – hundreds of thousands killed on both sides – the porousness of the sanctions on Russia, the “madness” of it all. Donald Trump once again threatened to “annihilate” Iran if it did not make a deal, a promise that has now been made so many times its restating only reveals its hollowness. Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, responded in his own speech by saying that Iran has been the victim of US terrorism and aggression, and would defend itself with the “utmost strength”. The sole US delegation representative in the room walked out. In the middle of this unbridled,...

Absolute idiot. All these showboating, hypocritical GOP members can’t see reality. They don’t represent us, they are protecting their wealth and illegal activity. Get them OUT!

We have such a collective blindspot for social murder. There are serial killers at the top of so many institutions and corporations. Hegseth’s brazen glee and open showboating is anomalous, but his body count is not.
Pretty clear to me there’s a very good case against this man for mass murder, and I’m saying that in as measured a fashion as I can. He’s order the killing of 234 people under no plausible war or legal justification. I am skeptical he will ever face legal accountability for til his but he should.
Hegseth: "The ideological clowns are out. The patriotic cowboys are in, with testosterone testing on top."
