He’s tenacious. Shrugging off a couple of big shunts is not easy.

the disadvantages & biases they encounter are less systemic although not entirely nonsystemic because the system is set up to disadvantage everyone but a favored group which has its own hierarchy that shunts some to the bottom of it.

“Shunt outcomes following multidisciplinary ventriculoperitoneal shunt placement with general surgery involvement”

I always have general surgery place the distal catheter for VP shunts. The risk of abdominal issues and revisions is lower and the incision is much smaller. Way better.

OBJECTIVE Ventriculoperitoneal shunt (VPS) placement is a common neurosurgical procedure, but the impact of general surgery (GS) participation during distal catheter insertion remains uncertain. The a...

the bombardment of colours is apparently due to the fact that, as a stillbirth, my brain was jolted into hard-coding a bunch of "memories" from my first year of life - something the brain usually specifically shunts out of your memory because of how traumatic rapid neuron growth is

instead of getting angry for hours at a time you should be able to press a button that shunts all of your anger into a single capsule. this could then be sold for profit to the market of people who want to get angry at nothing

I feel this so much. I don't mind different interpretations in concept, but when it's obvious how much is made and lauded that shunts people more and more into the margins, the less patience I have for it. I also hate that when I show love & criticism for something, it's just seen as hate too

There are a lot of valid criticisms of Star Trek First Contact, not least of which is that it shunts us down the "action" movie pathway when so much of TOS and TNG was treating violence as last resort.

But goodness do I love its ending. Picard and Lily's mutual envy, meeting the Vulcans...

As an Apple user with absolute reams of texts coming in from political fund raisers, I can say it’s already there for me. Built-in AI on the phone now answers my phone for all unknown numbers and shunts junk texts away. Just checked and saw 31 campaign texts since a few days ago. None pinged through

And effectively shunts the burden of dealing with it to our side, as some kind of weird internal politics

Yup! My twin brother and I were born prematurely with a plethora of issues from not fully developing in utero long enough (tiny lungs, short toes, underdeveloped bone structures, and MORE)!

Our VP shunts were considered experimental at the time actually. They wanted to try SOMETHING to save us.

There are several major consequences to being raised this way.

One of the worst is how fast it shunts girls and young women into abusive relationships.

Because when we got all this going on at home? The first guy who comes along feels like freedom.

We jump right into that frying pan, y’all

A major flaw that FF4 TAY has is that its episodic structure shunts all the good bits to the end and leaves the player trudging through the shadows of an infinitely better game. This is, unsurprisingly, also a problem that Deltarune has.

Good morning everyone.
The end of another week; I hope it’s been a good one for you.
Back to a late afternoon in the 80’s at Crewe, and AC veteran 81013 shunts through the fast lines.
Hope you all have a great week ahead. Stay safe. 🫡

A squighog cant take a fixed weapon, however its a "finkin mount" so its rider can fire any weapon its armed with rather than just a pistol.

Additionally its slightly better at ramming than a bike, able to inflict damage in both shunts and t-bones due to its weight and steel plated head.
