For #RockinTuesday, here a a photo of Red and White Mountain in the #JohnMuirWilderness in CA. This mountain has a classic “roof pendant” with the dark “rock hat” made of metasedimentary rocks later intruded by granodiorite.

Alpine gold (Hulsea algida). This beautiful #wildflower grows in the High Sierra from 9,500 ft elevation to 14,000 ft. The furry hairs on the leaves and stem protect it from extreme winds and temperatures.
