A bird in a tree for #birdoftheday. This bird is looking pretty #grounded showing off #silhouettesandshadows. Oh, it is a heron bird.

I chose this cute girl from my photo stash today because she suits both prompts from #BirdOfTheDay which are #Grounded and #SilhouettesandShadows

#silhouettesandshadows is the #birdoftheday alt theme, and I hope this counts. I really like when I can get a bird, its shadow and a reflection all in one shot. Light from behind here but not really a strong silhouette. A Great egret with reflection and shadow. #birds 🪶 #eck

The ‘Amber-eyed’ Junco

I’d been trying to capture the eye color of Dark-Eyed Juncos, a species of well #grounded birds

A shaft of late afternoon sun at the right angle reveals that it is amber.

Maybe some partial credit for #SilhouettesandShadows, too?
