I like to think that when the Enterprise crew told Starfleet about the humans & Skagarans they needed to go back and help after successfully returning from the Expanse, it was the impetus for Starfleet eventually instigating a "second contact" protocol. #StarTrek

List of Humans from Pre-warp earth who somehow got to other planets and colonized in Star Trek:

Unnamed Planet: Former Delphic Expanse
Humans abducted from Wild-west era America by a species called Skagarans to work as slaves. Humans rebelled and overthrew. - Enterprise S3.E9

I missed this one when it first aired, so the watch-along was the first time I saw it.

And, yeah, so these Skagarans show up on late 19th century Earth, and abduct:
- a bunch of humans
- some horses
- possibly some sheep and cattle
- an entire Industrial Revolution infrastructure

Sounds legit.

=ENT 3x9: North Star=

And THIS IS A STAR TREK EPISODE, TOO! So good!!

The 1800's-level Humans' oppression of the Skagarans was wrong--not bc the Humans' enslavement was "100s of yrs ago," but bc YOU DON'T OPPRESS A PEOPLE--esp. not for the crimes of others of their "kind"!!

The hatchway opened up and Jonathan Archer found himself standing where he had two years earlier. The Wild West town still looked much the same as it had; he didn't expect too much progress.

But the Skagarans were walking with humans. There was progress at least.

(9/9) I’m pretty sure that this little colony, humans & Skagarans, will end up joining the community that forms the Federation. And I’d like to think that Bethany & those kids were in the audience in the great hall, & heard that great speech of Archer’s that we haven’t! #StarTrekEnterprise

They time travel to 2003 in Carpenter Street, 60 years before the Vulcans make first contact in 2063.

And in North Star, the Skagarans travel to Earth in the 1800s.

The episodes occur after the movie First Contact, but that wasn't what the questioner was asking.

The Skagarans used to be one of the leading races in the Delphic Expanse. They forged a vast empire of colonies, usually abducting people from primitive worlds to serve as slave labor. They frequently clashed with Xindus, Xanthan Prime, and Oran'taku.

As they walked, Jannar whispered to Naara, "I can't believe my eyes. I thought the Skagarans had gone extinct."

"The Expanse is still full of surprises," she replied.

Surviving Skagarans attempted to integrate into other cultures. Despite the Expanse's universal custom of hospitality, forged due to its chaotic and unpredictable nature, many were met with disdain and hostility for decades to come.

Enterprise s3 ep9 North Star thoughts:

Love a western
Bennings is an awful human being
lol Trip learning about horses from westerns
Bethany is awesome
The Sheriff needs to get off his ass
The 1850s humans with the Skagarans are a good parallel to the Enterprise crew with the Xindi

Ha, yes. And I totally should have thought of the ability to generate the clothes. Good point.

The Skagarans had to bring horses in the first place, but I suppose if their ship had several thousand people, what's a few horses? Space stables! (Clearly I get wrapped up in the wrong details)

The "Briori" sound an awful lot like the "Skagarans" who abducted people from the Old West for ENT to find. #allstartrek

What’s the analogy? The Skagarans are indigenous people? #StarTrek #Enterprise

Settlers on the planet are all cultures transplanted by the Skagarans (from the Enterprise episode North Star) some 400 years prior. Pike lands near a Western town. Spock lands near the survivors of a Vulcan ship that crashed some hundred years prior.
