Taught my final lesson of the year, which is bittersweet. SO proud of what I helped these kids accomplish in 6 weeks.

Skied with my daughter today. At one point, I was facing an intimidating drop and she talked me through it with the exact words I talk my students through unloading the lift.
She started teaching before me and has been on skis since she was 2, so is way better than me at all this.

My favorite was preying mantis, which got us leaning forward and shifting our balance from ski to ski by aiming our hands where we wanted to go, but the kid favorite was birds. 🦜 We all agreed flailing our limbs around like we decided an octopus to do was ineffective. 🐙

I taught a ski lesson yesterday where we pretended to be different animals all session. (It's a great way to "trick" kids into learning what's effective and what isn't while they think they're just playing around.) And we all had a lot of fun.

Seriously. If a student told me their last instructor treated them like my inner voices treat me, I'd demand a name and try to get that person fired.
