Skirrid - 'sophisticated' number-strategising high concept board game for broadsheet readers to look at and go 'aaaaaahhhhh!' rather than play, promoted by bewildering assortment of public figures vigorously asserting that they had received a letter mentioning it.

Lots of people turned out for a solar eclipse viewing from Skirrid Fawr in Wales (smoke in background from wildfires quite a sobering sight)

Got it in Herefordshire most of the day, now the wind direction has changed it's blowing toward Forest of Dean. Here's a shot from Raglan way from earlier today.

⛰️ I recently hiked up to Skirrid Fawr in Abergavenny.

🌳 It’s steep in the forest but there is this amazing and breathtaking moment when you finally come out of the trees and see beautiful Monmouthshire laid out before you like a patchwork quilt.

Ha, we had a little book of Welsh walks and found one with a Welsh name, it said it was a steep start but then gentle ascents. After a while we realised it was Skirrid, but by that time we were half way up. We are in our late 70's, but did it🤣

A few of the 'Skirrid 12' just having been fed. This group appeared on Sunday night having been found in holiday accommodation. The finders managed to contact us just in time as the heat had driven them out and they were all emaciated. Happy to report they're doing well and they like to keep an 🥰🦇

A new supermarket opened in my town, and dedicated one corner to a toy section, which carried a lot of board games, many not carried elsewhere in town. Skirrid was certainly one such game, but it looked far too dull to be one I even wanted to play.

Hi Tim, love the show. We didn't have Skirrid...but we did have Vagabondo, by the same people, that came with an even more implausible list of celebrity endorsements.

Ours only came instructions in Dutch, so we never actually played it properly.

Mid/south: Welsh borders v pretty, with nice little market towns. Hay-on-Wye famous for bookshops & festival. Black Mountains lovely - Llanthony Priory worth a visit, with Wales's "oldest pub" The Skirrid not too far away. Crickhowell nice place to stay in this area.
