I've just realised AI will soon mean our kids will be able to shout nonsense at smartspeakers to make them sing awful songs about poos and sweeties and stuff and that alone good enough reason to shut it all down.

Wanted to watch three big, classic old TV shows last night (two for fun one for work). None was available on any streaming platform. Two of them, I have on physical media. The other, more recent, exists as a paid digital download, but can’t be bought physically in the UK. That’s not good.

Homepod is not even stereo and the speakers are tiny. No comparison against good stereo speakers from the 90ies. But surely better than those small in-ears or small smartspeakers like alexa echo dot.
