me looking at the warnings of SMEN and going “yeah I’ll do it” and then being surprised when the mechanical effects happen
One of my favorite and most effective design patterns is "tell the player exactly what you're gonna do to them, then do it." You can be SIGNIFICANTLY meaner to the player if you simply tell them ahead of time that that's exactly what you'll be doing, and also the suspense of the warning is a delight

Ugh this was my fault I was trying to fix something ( fairshare has been missing many mentions recently ) and introduced a bug that flooded the API with unthrottled old missed replies ; since fixed / implemented throttling and sent an appeal request email but received no notification email

How badly does everyone want their own “Heated Rivalry”? Pretty badly, apparently. Netflix’s “Icebreaker” is the latest sign that streamers are ramping up their YA and New Adult romance adaptations, particularly books with enormous built-in fandoms, and suddenly the ice rink itself looks like some of the hottest real estate in television.
