So uhhh got distracted. Smocked the dress. Tons of hand sewing left to do on finishing it. Also I done goofed and smocked the sleeves before hemming them so that also will need to be hand sewn cuz I’ll make a mess of them if I try to do them by machine now. But it’s so pretty.

Taught myself how to do some skeleton/dragonscale smocking yesterday and now I'm going to turn it into the spine of a dress. Not the neatest but I'm really thrilled with it.
Black linen that I've smocked into a lattice/arrow pattern to look like a spinal cord. Back view of me wearing the smocked linen after I basted things together to turn this fabric into a bodice.
