River levels have now fallen below the flood risk threshold, subsequently this Flood Warning is no longer in force. No further significant rainfall is forecast for the next couple of days and river levels are expected to continue to fall throughout this evening and overnight into tomorrow, Friday 03 January. Rivers will be responsive to any further rainfall. A period of rain and snow is forecast late on Saturday 04 January into Sunday 05 January. We will continue to closely monitor the forecast and will re-issue this Flood Warning if necessary. A Flood Alert remains in force for the wider area and flooding of roads and low-lying land is still possible, therefore please avoid using low lying footpaths and roads near local watercourses.

River levels are continuing to fall on the River Aire at Kildwick, although they remain elevated as a result of persistent heavy rainfall over the New Year period. No further significant rainfall is forecast for the next couple of days and river levels are forecast to gradually fall further throughout today, Thursday 2nd January 2025. Cononley washlands remain high. Areas most at risk include Snaygill Industrial Estate from the sewage works to Ghyll Way including, further downstream, Cononley Business Park on Cononley Lane and Aireside Avenue. We are continuing to monitor the situation closely. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This flood warning remains in force due to very high levels in the Kildwick area following heavy rain over the previous 24 hours. Consequently, the risk of flooding to property continues through this evening, Wednesday 01 January 2025 and overnight. Areas most at risk include Snaygill Industrial Estate from the sewage works to Ghyll Way, including, further downstream, Cononley Business Park on Cononley Lane and Aireside Avenue. River levels at Kildwick are now starting to slowly fall and river and washland levels should continue to fall tonight and through tomorrow, Thursday 2nd January. No further significant rainfall is expected over the next two to three days. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. Do not put yourself at risk by walking or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 05:00 AM on Thursday 2nd January 2025, or as the situation changes.
