The only time in recent memory that I can recall being confounded by a forecast was about 3 years ago when we were supposed to get a bad snowstorm (I planned around it) and it fizzled to nothing.
Seems like a big deal, but they got everything else right for 1000 days before and after. 🤷♀️

Here’s my cat who was once someone else’s outdoor cat.
He presumably got lost in a snowstorm, like Adonis, and ended up in a shelter. His ears are short cause the tips were frostbitten off.
Now he only goes outside in the yard for supervised field trips.
