Sofabed is still in bed mode due to pal staying and I have to say that having immediate access to a very comfy double bed in the living room is CHOICE.

Today years old when I realized that the sofabed we had in the basement when I was a kid was not a Hydabed, like some fancy brand name, but merely a hide-a-bed, as in a bed that is hidden.

I once had an absolutely smashing sofa that had kind of fold down bits at each end that could either be armrests, or a sort of halfway down pillow prop thing for quality slouching, or fully flat for sofabed use/maximal seating potential. More should be like this.
