I will be in reclusion on Monday, like a member of the Chinese literati fleeing the decaying Ming empire to contemplate peace and beauty in Nature.

Ok, all you lab leakers, I've found it - the missing link, scientist and bat.
Or rather, my friend Freek Pals in Amsterdam found it.
Look at that complacent bat face. He doesn't mind at all.

Also, more recently, the current exhibition at Seattle's Asian Art Museum includes some amazing work by Kondo Takahiro memorializing the 2011 tsunami.

I’m sorry. There is fake kintsugi and real kintsugi, like the repairs on Ming porcelain pieces for the Japanese market: Ko-sometsuke and ko-akae. There are also staples but that’s something else. Nobody broke these treasured dishes on purpose. They were prized for generations, centuries.

When the Ming Empire began its long decline (beginning during the Jiajing Emperor's disastrous reign 1521-1567) scholars and literati fled the Court to become hermits and recluses, living in nature, far from public life.
How appealing is that starting to sound?
Gd help us if Trump wins.
