Album 7.5 ★★★★☆ von 10 — Empfehlenswert Rezension Sons of Cult stellen im Pressetext klar, was "Revenge" nicht ist: kein Black Metal, kein Thrash, kein Death Metal, keine modernen Produktionswerte. Das ist eine Haltung und sie wird auf dem Album eingelöst. Gegründet 2020, Debüt 2023, zwei EPs dazwischen, jetzt das zweite Album mit einer neuen Sängerin. María J. Lladó kommt von der spanischen Doom-Metal-Band Golgotha, was erklärt, warum ihr Timbre sowohl Gewicht als auch Melodie trägt. Die spanische Presse vermisst Jaume Vilanova, findet das Ergebnis aber trotzdem überzeugend und das ist das ehrlichste Kompliment für einen Sängerwechsel. "Steel Miles" als Opener baut auf atmosphärischen Gitarrenmelodien auf, bevor sich der Sound voll entfaltet. "Our Heroes Never Die" als erste Single ist der direkteste Moment , ein Tribut an die Metalllegenden, die nicht nur Songs sondern eine Lebensweise geschaffen haben, mit Solos die das meinen was sie sagen. "Hate Me" ist der emotionalste Track, "We Are Not Alone" der hoffnungsvollste. Produziert von Vicente J. Payá, gemischt und gemastert von Davide Billia, der u.a. für Avulsed und Holycide gearbeitet hat, der Sound ist warm, dynamisch und ohne Kompromisse an den Zeitgeist. Traditional Heavy Metal ohne Subgenre-Kompromisse und das klingt nicht nach Nostalgie, sondern nach Überzeugung. Metal Forces nennt es "of pure metal heart", das trifft es präzise.
