This was definitely prompted by a silly conversation about Lyna side-eyeing the WoL for getting flirty with her grandpa, but.
Lyna. Beloved Lyna. I want to talk about Lyna within Soren's story!

Soren joined Maelstrom! Ul’dah was dicey bc she had bad history with the city state govt, and the Gridanians were kinda stuck up. Limsa seemed a good place to blend in better.

#wolqotd What Grand Company did your WOL join? Is there a story reason for your choice? Just went with the one associated with their starting city? Is the GC even relevant to their lore in the first place? I’m curious and wanna know!

Backed into a corner along a nondescript canyon in Gyr Abania with the twins. They were the last of the Scions still alive. Despite the risk, they couldn’t bear to separate.
They were all so small. Soren still tried to shield them both, their arms found tangled together. #wolaotd #sorenlore

Long before V'kahzu became Soren, her path was to apprentice as a weaver in Ul'dah. Her father was a vagrant textile merchant, and hoped she could be the foot-in-the-door to a better life in the city.
She should have consulted her father before ⬇️

Ardbert was like a brother to Soren through her time on the First. After he lent her the last of his strength for Hades... all was quiet.
But he's always there. Just out of the corner of her eye sometimes...

Soren did not survive Ultima Thule.
I rewrote the order of events - in the game you fight the Endsinger, speak to Meteion, see the shower of golden light, fight Zenos, and then the transporter falls into your hand.
For Soren, Zenos comes FIRST and THEN Meteion arrives...🎇⬇️

Has your WoL / OC died before? Were they resuscitated without long term consequences or are they undead / an apparition of some kind as a result of the event?

Some of my oldest photos of Soren.
A girl and her birds... her hunting hawk, Nyroc, has been with her since she fled Ul'dah and began living in Little Ala Mhigo. He's the eyes, she's the ears.
I want to figure out a good story for her lanner, bc he's canonically her main mount!

Honestly Soren’s usually too swept up in the events - she’s terrible at keeping in touch even if she thinks of folks/cares about them. She writes letters occasionally. Notorious for forgetting her linkpearl ✌️

A #wolqotd - How often does your wol/oc call those not with them in MSQ? Do their families have a linkpearl so that they might communicate easier when far away? Do they refuse knowing that they can be listened in on?

Soren does a lot of sketching and landscape drawing, more towards proper plein air painting in Dawntrail!
Cameras don't seem biquitous in Eorzea so this was a good stand-in for "I love taking travel photos."
She also ofc loves dancing, and singing too - nothing fancy tho ^^

Does your WoL/OC have any musical or artistic talents/skills/hobbies? Do they write, sing, paint, dance? What sort of things do they do to express themselves creatively? ^^

Soren is a common name, and easy to say. Most people are expecting a Hyur man, though, not a tiny Miqote woman. It was exactly the name she needed and wanted as she joined the Scions.
Only three outside her family know her real name - Alphinaud, Nanamo, and G’raha⬇️

Soren began as THM, but struggled with controlling her aether. She already wields a lance pre-MSQ, but goes the DRG route as soon as it starts in ARR.
She turns to DNC during HW after the Vault bc she needs /something/ different, but has lost her footing.
