The event has run since January 2023 without any solid big PR/marketing support or any funding. In fact, #PRSFoundation refused my funding application for this brilliant event just the other day sadly but there was support from #soundonsound Magazine for three events in the past!

There's still some around, just much smaller. The prime example is SomethingAwful, but there's also smaller yet active communities like knockout (birthed from facepunch's demise,) and dedicated forums for niches like soundonsound for audio stuff and guru3d and LTT for tech stuff.

I recall an old SoundOnSound interview w/ @jahwobble.bsky.social where he explains how the harmonics within basslines change the entire feel of a track, and as such the bass holds so much power in composition.

I'm not a bass player but those words still make me focus on monophonic bass as melody.

Here's a retro review from #soundonsound for the percussion instrument called DAMAGE, by Heavyocity. This percussion tool has been all over Film/TV/Game scores for years, & it's still one of my go to instruments when I need heavy hitting percussion!
