The human brain is baffling. Can recall the lyrics, word for word, of Question by The Moody Blues but not the reason I've just gone upstairs.

Minnie Ripperton's Loving You is one of the great songs and performances ever.
50 years old but timeless.

Made the error of tuning into #Soundsofthe70s too early and hearing Elaine Paige's laugh.
I'm still shaking.

Shaun Keaveny is a much better fit on #SoundsOfthe70s than Bob Harris.

Sadly, I thought of the gag as I was driving home.

At the recycling centre earlier and some doubt whether my office type chair is scrap metal or general waste.
The young lad consulted his supervisor who decided it was scrap.
Wonder if the supervisor is known as the metal guru?

Why Life Begins at the Hop by XTC wasn't a number one record has baffled me for 47 years and counting.
I have it on clear vinyl.

The Yes Album was released 54 years ago today.
Crikey.

My memory of Rick Parfitt is him thanking the support act, Chicken Shack, and him saying they were better than Quo.

Never quite understood how Elton John could see Daniel waving goodbye shortly after seeing the red tail lights of his plane heading for Spain.

Hesitate to give advice but Billy Paul needs to know that if he's still not calling Mrs Jones by her first name their relationship isn't as serious as he seems to believe.

I've never understood the appeal of Janis Joplin. Far too screechy and shouty IMHO.
She's certainly no Dusty Springfield.

Bob Harris has just called Bohemian Rhapsody 'BoRap' on
#SoundsOfthe70s.
I last heard the song in Home Bargains or Homey B as I'm sure it's now known as.

Bob Harris keeps calling MacFadden & Whitehead MacFadden & Whitehouse.
The latter would have been an interesting duo.

Shaun Keaveny is an inspired choice for #Soundsofthe70s. Covers the whole gamut of 70s music in a really understated and witty way.

Listening to The Skids on #SoundsOfThe70s.
Richard Jobson didn't have clear diction. He wasn't Dunfermline's Julie Andrews.

Do Anything You Wanna Do by Eddie and the Hot Rods is one of the finest punk records ever made.
Positive, tuneful, high energy, clever lyrics - it acted as an inspiration for more tuneful music not merely rage and anger.
Here endeth the sermon.

Listening to #SoundsOfThe70s just confirms that listening to ELP and King Crimson should have been spent on The Carpenters.
Just as technically good but miles better songs.

Much as I like Little Feat and Bob Seeger it's David Cassidy that brings back the 1970s on #SoundsOfThe70s.

Too much NME, Sounds, Melody Maker and not enough Jackie, Fab 208 and Smash Hits on #SoundsOfthe70s

The new #SoundsOfThe70s is excellent but it's MY 1970s - NME, gigs, OGWT etc not people like my wife's - David Cassidy, disco, Fiesta at Stockton on Tees etc.

Schools Out on #SoundsOfThe70s. A reminder of the sequence of Silver Machine, Schools Out, Join Together and Layla in one edition of #totp in the summer of 1972.
Never beaten IMHO.

There have been sadder songs than Goodbye to Love by The Carpenters but none that where the song embodies the singer so completely.
Man of the World by Peter Green comes close.

New Rose on #SoundsOfThe70s. The first time I heard it I thought it was Status Quo.

#Soundsofthe70s presented by Bob Harris is the sound of my 1970s - OGWT, gigs, smell of joss sticks, LPs etc.
However, as my wife pointed out last week, there's not enough disco or cheesy music.
