Question for the readers… Does seeing quotes full of praise by some of your favorite authors distract you from the plot you may or may not be about to read?

Do you honestly think that affects whether a reader purchases a book or not?

Hi Alethea, I spent a few minutes reviewing Thieftess, and one thing stood out immediately: your book has strong ratings, 4.5 stars from 13 reviews on Amazon and 4.5 from 35 on Goodreads, and is Book 4 of 4 in the Woodcutter Sisters series, with a swashbuckling fairy tale adventure premise, Pirate Queen Thursday Woodcutter on a quest to find her disappeared husband, yet the description opens with author praise quotes before the story summary, which may distract potential readers from the plot and series context. On its own, that may not seem significant, but it's often a sign that readers aren't discovering the book as effectively as they could. Cover of THIEFTESS by Alethea Kontis.
