This painting is split between a foreground, middle space, and background. The foreground illustrates a rustic cemetery with brush and cacti, a broken fence, and tombstones. multiple native birds occupy this area. The focus in the middle area (and the overall painting) is the church - a small, adobe structure with a raised belltower. Beyond, a mountainous rise under a blue sky fills out the frame.
