🌎 Spectacled tyrant (Hymenops perspicillatus) The spectacled tyrant is a small bird with a distinctive appearance. It has a mostly black plumage, with a little white showing on the wings at rest, and a conspicuous white "spectacle" around its eye. It is found in South America, in countries such as Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay. It prefers open habitats such as grasslands and scrublands. The Spectacled tyrant is a flycatcher, meaning it catches insects in mid-air. It is usually seen perching on a branch or fence post, waiting for prey to fly by. Two subspecies are recognised. Conservation status: Least Concern (IUCN 3.1) 📷: Photo by Beto_MdP via Pixabay NXJM
