God I love Spiritfall
For a game that really wants to be like smash bros, Spiritfall sure is afraid to be like smash bros. Don't get me wrong I like it a lot, its fun, it feels pretty good to play, but I kept thinking "I wish player more like smash than it did something deadcells" like the concept of a roguelite smash is

Happened to me with Spiritfall
Lovely lovely game, and I did force myself to play like 4 more times to test the other weapons
But yeah the fire was dead after beating it first try

Ideally even weird combinations would do something cool together. Spiritfall is a great example of one where even different categories of upgrades (fire, electricity, ice) actually synergize in cool ways. Ball x Pit is another one where unexpected combos produce interesting results.

Spiritfall has been on my list - a roguelite inspired by platform fighters (e.g. Smash Bros.) Pepper Grinder wasn't on my list, but I had been considering it at a deep enough discount.
