A remote river ice scene on the Tanana River shows the Nenana Ice Classic tripod still standing on a small, thinning ice sheet. Dark water channels now surround the base, forming a moat-like ring around the remaining ice island. The river ice is cracked, uneven, and visibly weakening as spring breakup approaches.
