Chief Zumo announced the Springfield Fire Department retained an ISO Class 1 designation after a year-long study, credited station investments and deployment for maintaining sub-4-minute response times, and said the new 'beacon' program averages about 6.5 calls a day with around 60% tied to mental-health responses.
