Some speculation of mine regarding the FNAF lore: What if Afton specifically bankrupted Edwin Murray to steal his assets, because Edwin built the springlock suit that caused the death of the crying child?
What if it was an act of revenge from Afton, that happened to lead to him obtaining the Mimic?
