I have been building a Skytrex O gauge fuel storage tank today. I thought I could get it finished before the end of #TheArchers omnibus, but it was not to be.

My layout has finally got to the stage where I can just pop down to the Keller and tinker for 15-20 minutes. No more staring at the baseboards trying to decide where the track should go. Now it is ‘what shade of green should the grass be on the embankment?’

I decided a few months ago that really didn’t need any more wagons, so my latest arrived this morning. My excuse is that Brawa don’t make O Scale anymore and their models hardly ever appear on UK eBay. Doesn’t feel as ‘robust’ as a Lenz model, but lovely detail.

My Noch shunting figures have finally arrived. German O gauge is such a rarity in the UK that it was actually cheaper to order these from Germany.

On previous layouts I have never bothered with figures. I really only got the Noch figures to help scale scratchbuilt buildings. However, I am now a convert and they do add a sense of realism that is perhaps not obvious in photos.

I have had to switch to a Lenz LH Controller as these Lenz locos just don’t perform well with the MultiMAUS. Not sure if it is a recognised issue or just my layout, but much smoother and precise control with the LH.

On my previous OO layout I have twelve sets of points. I was determined I would not get so carried away with this O gauge layout, especially considering the cost of O gauge turnouts. However, the postman has just been!

Treated myself to a Lenz V60, this is a loco I have craved for ages. It is scheduled to arrive on Thursday which will be ideal as Senior Management will be out that day. Supposed to be having a 'no spend' month, but this was too good to miss.
