The Roe family were the main benefactor to the restoration of @cccdublin.bsky.social and its new Synod Hall in 1871.

Henry Roe donated £250,000 (approx. €38m today).

St Patrick’s Tower is a rare circular “smock” windmill, named for its tapering shape which resembled the traditional farmer’s smock.

Most smock windmills were hexagonal or octagonal, making this one especially unique.
