Happy St. Stephen’s Day! 14th century wall painting fragments from St. Stephen’s Chapel - the Royal Chapel at the Old Palace of Westminster, largely destroyed by fire in 1834. The fragments are now part of the collections at the British Museum. 📷 My own. #StStephensDay

Although today is known in many nations as Boxing Day or St. Stephen's Day, in Ireland and the Isle of Man it's Wren Day (Lá an Dreoilín.) Men and boys dress in straw costumes in tribute to "the king of all birds" and sing songs outside houses for money and sweets– kind of a Celtic trick-or-treat.
