I'm aware that the President likes to go on television and beg me to call him to ask for troops.
I find it strange, as Chicago doesn't want troops.
I also have experience asking him for assistance – just to have the rug pulled up from underneath me when execution meets reality.

My heart is with the immigrant community in Chicago. If I feel the dread of what is to come during the announced deportation raids, I cannot imagine their fear of what is being promised this week. I have no words - just anger and tears.

JB Pritzker uses the word "invasion" to describe what Trump has planned for my city, Chicago. And that's exactly what it would be – an autocratic government trying to crush our dissent because we oppose his corruption, cruelty and incompetence. It's what dictators do.
Pritzker: "No one in the administration -- the president or anybody under him -- has called anyone in my administration or me. It's clear that in secret they're are planning this invasion with US troops."
