It is not about Kimmel or what he said. It is about the US government forcing a network to fire someone - no government should have that power. If the network decided this on their own, that’s one thing. But in this case they absolutely did not.

ABC’s decision was announced almost immediately after Nexstar, which owns dozens of ABC stations across the country, said it would no longer air Kimmel’s program. Nexstar is currently seeking approval from Trump’s FCC for a $6.2 billion merger with rival TEGNA.
