One of my favorite things about the SCE series was developing the relationship between Corsi and Stevens. It was something I threw into COLD FUSION as a challenge to the other authors to develop the backstory for. Hilariously, it wound up being me who developed it, in SECURITY a couple years later.

I blame Starfleet and the Federation for developing the weapon, not developing safety protocols that worked, and then sending them along out there. Totally a failure of their leadership. #TrekBookClub #StarTrekSCEWildfire

I like how they did kill off characters - there are real stakes involved with the story, and not everything ends up well. That's the real danger they face. #TrekBookClub #StarTrekSCEWildfire

I, too, have always preferred the cover from the eBook of “Wildfire, Part 1.” Not only is the art sharper, but the ships are in the right positions — the da Vinci discovering the Orion. The omnibus cover reversed their positions, so da Vinci faces away from Orion, which makes no sense.
