Thanks Amy for reading. I hope #StarryField gave you some context to the events of the last day in Korea
Just finished @mjuhae.bsky.social ‘s brilliant memoir about her grandfather Lee Chul Ha who was imprisoned in 1929 for protesting Japan’s colonization of Korea; decades later, he was posthumously recognized as a patriot of S. Korea. Surreal to now see the headlines out of S. Korea over the last 24h…

Can't wait to speak at the Redwood City Public Library on Tuesday, March 18 at 6:30 pm in honor of Women's History Month. Even though I began #StarryField to look for information about my grandfather, my grandmother's testimony is what anchors my book. @melvillehouse.bsky.social

The #StarryField audiobook is out on Oct. 7! While initially disappointed that I wasn't allowed to narrate, I am super happy with Michelle H. Lee's narration. She was conscientious and conferred with me. Her Korean is also a million times better than mine.

The sky spins with a quiet fire, and the earth answers in bloom.
Where stars spiral like thoughts, flowers remember the light.
