Post-hardcore band Static Dress have launched a free-to-play psychological horror game titled ‘The Magistrate’s Loop’, which is closely tied to their forthcoming second album, 'Injury Episode'. The game offers a first-person experience in which players navigate a looping corridor accompanied by an eerie electronic soundtrack. Unlike traditional games, it contains no combat or failure conditions; players simply explore and solve puzzles until completion. The game is designed to stand alone for newcomers, while fans familiar with the band’s extensive lore will recognise motifs, objects, and names from their intricate storytelling universe. This is the band’s second foray into video games, following their 2024 release of a Game Boy Colour game inspired by their debut album ‘Rouge Carpet Disaster’. Vocalist Olli Appleyard described the project as a medium of escapism, allowing players to immerse themselves in a creatively rich environment separate from reality. The game takes approximately 10 to 30 minutes to complete and is available to play for free online. Meanwhile, Static Dress’ second album, 'Injury Episode', is set for release on 29th May 2026.
