Was thinking that Chris Murphy was not remotely high on my list of Senators at risk for a stroke. Then I looked up his age. He's younger than I am. Guess I won't be skipping that statin.

Is anything more 'middle-aged man' than getting a statin prescription? 😐

Circling back to the main point: I have no idea if my parents had high BP or high cholesterol and I have no way of finding out even though my cardiologist needs to know for purposes of statin-dosaging.

But that need is NOT WHY I HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW WHO MY PARENTS ARE.

A recent FDA enforcement report revealed a Class II recall of prescription atorvastatin calcium tablets—the generic version of Lipitor—due to the "Presence of Foreign Tablets/Capsules." The report does not specify what those foreign tablets or capsules are.
Cholesterol Pill Recall: Over 13,000 Bottles Recalled Over an Unusual Safety Concern
The affected tablets are known as a generic version of a popular statin.

A massive new analysis from two of the world’s largest biomedical databases just linked statin use to roughly double the risk of dementia.

This is observational data, not a randomized trial, so it cannot prove causation.

NY is a hilarious argument In support of patronage.

Our elections are SOOOO fast. Turns out overstaffing the heck out of them is, in fact, effective.

I wish we had a similar approach to primary care medicine. Flood the zone with paras for blood sugar & pressure checks, statin distribution.

But on the health side and life side of things, it's not been that great. Although I'm hoping it will start looking up as we're slowly getting answers. I still have some testing coming up but we think that the neurological issues that have been getting worse are due to extended statin use.

Naja, das LDL-Cholesterin war bei 160, aber ansonsten habe ich keinerlei kardiovaskuläre Risikofaktoren. Also weiterhin kein Statin. 10 kg abnehmen, hat er gesagt, würde mir nicht schaden. Mein innerer Schweinehund hat laut gebellt.

I’m sure there’s a name for this type of “grilled cheese”: I fried the bread while I fried the cheese in the same pan, then closed it together, soft side out, and made a warm cheesy crunchy sandwich. One wonders why I’m on a statin, weird. Anyway sum1 know if that typa sammich has a fancy name?

PCSK9 inhibitors work really well.
( There is 2 shots ( 2 week ) 1 pill, 1 6month shot that is rnai interference.

Unlike statins they lower heart attack incidence.

You can mitigate some ( but not all ) of statin damage with coq10 use. ( But it's also expensive.

I haven't really tried to rx enlicitide yet. How is coverage, particularly compared to injectable PCSK9i?

(I know you had rhabdo to statin, IME that still requires a peer-to-peer: like WTF?)
