The book that hasn't left my desk for the entirety of my PhD and beyond! #StatisticalRethinking by @rmcelreath.bsky.social is a must for any scientist, especially for a FIELD ecologist, yes, a #field #ecologist if you want to try to many any sense imout of your observations!
I'm teaching Statistical Rethinking again starting Jan 2026. This time with live lectures, divided into Beginner and Experienced sections. Will be a lot more work for me, but I hope much better for students.

I suspect when I got back to Kruschke and Hobbs & Hooten (after finishing #StatisticalRethinking, of course), they'll make a lot more sense in the "why did I find this so difficult before?" kind of way.

On the other hand, maybe me-from-2-years-ago lacked the mathematical maturity to appreciate how simple McElreath has made learning how to *apply* these statistical procedures. #StatisticalRethinking

I'm really enjoying Chapter 4 of #StatisticalRethinking. I really could have used the book in my life like 2 years ago when I was trying to make sense of Kruschke's text on #BayesianDataAnalysis or Hobbs & Hooten's book on #BayesianModels.

I've been dragging so much ass on getting through Ch 4 of #StatisticalRethinking. I could say that my fever held me up a couple days, but I don't think that's being 89% honest.

This is definitely too ambitious of a project for me, but I'd like to learn to use RMarkdown to compile some research/scripting notes which marries the content from @/rlmcelreath's #StatisticalRethinking with Wikle, Zammit-Mangion and Cressie's #SpatioTemporalStatisticsWithR.
