9wk prosthetics anniversary. Still a long way to improve fit, function, resilience, etc but pleased to have so far managed 2.5 mile walk (3mile/5k PB planned for tomorrow) and a 3hr bike ride (admittedly with some @bromptonbicycle.bsky.social e-assist!). Onwards.

It wouldn’t be a proper ride without a coffee stop. Just taking the weight off my legs for a bit, as you do 😂
Great cortado, faultless @bromptonbicycle.bsky.social, and progress made. Onwards.

Easier to find the wherewithal to push on when surrounded by such wildlife. 2mph is my absolute speed limit for now, and I can’t even hold that for an hour. But distance progress. Onwards. #StayOutsideForLonger

Another reason for today’s 2k epic (albeit with numerous rests) is it’s the 1yr anniversary of my first leg amputation (Trevor’s bday). Alice baked him a delicious coffee & walnut cake. #winning #StayOutsideForLonger #amputee

I’ve had these legs for 3.5 weeks now and, in addition to pushing my walking, today I got to test my Leki hiking poles, Yomp rucksack, and more lovely Albion Cycling kit - all were great. #StayOutsideForLonger

Job done. Repeated the 1.75 mile PB from 3 weeks ago - but with adjusted sockets, 3” extra height, and a rather sticky 27 deg C. Heat made things spicy. 1.5l drunk in 1hr15. Home to hide in the dark with a fan on. Onwards. #StayOutsideForLonger

Final #HaldonForestPark visit of 2025. A very sunny and mild 10 deg C. Here’s a view from the Raptor (Purple) Trail. Castle in the distance is actually a triangular tower called Haldon Belvedere. #StayOutsideForLonger

Walk #7, on 2 week anniversary of the #prosthetics, I wanted to set a 2k goal which was… harder than expected. Roger and Trevor and legs fine - but lower back v weak/sore. Thinking lordosis, anterior pelvic tilt, and poor technique so much to work on! #StayOutsideForLonger

Daily walking ‘training’ and physio going well on the self-entitled Ouch to 5k plan. Will soon take this www.Yomp.store bag on its first shuffle/hike, and eventual ruck once up to speed. Patches already prepared.
