Stelco which is owned by the US based Cleveland Cliffs Inc. refused money from the Canadian government to keep it opened and protect jobs.
Another tidbit of info, we know that this is a US based company in Canada and Trump was basically applauding the failure of this company thinking it was Canadian, due to the tariffs, he is a fucking idiot.

I don’t know what the net effect is across the industry, but for this particular Canadian steel company, the effect was for them to shift all of their sales to Canada, while their American parent company laid off 2,000 American workers.
