"Beyond typical #openscience questions, the report asks: Is global science equally open to learning from different experiences, questioning established assumptions, and open to hearing outside perspectives that challenge existing norms.

We need to do more than compare ourselves, we need to bring our own evidence into that global convo. The report issues an invitation to ask better questions about what makes research systems strong."

"Report provides valuable model for scientific self-study. Talks not just about how we do this but what we learn about our own scientific systems and evolve. We need better evidence around research partnerships."

Across much of Africa we don't have the comprehensive, long term data to answer these meta-science questions: #Stellanbosch #HeideHackmann #China #CFRR - this is actually a threat to Africa bc our research continues to be invisible and so its hard to make the case for sustained investment.

I am listening to multiple arrangements because this song (the lyrics are the “Our Father” in Swahili) is like joy in a bottle. Todays is from the South African Stellanbosch University Choir with an arrangement of Christopher Tin’s original composition by Andre van der Merwe youtu.be/PCa8RxaOPW8?...

Thank Goodness Hantavirus Is All Over And Everything Is Fine

And yep, other folks and cultures exist!

Wrapping it back round to Stellanbosch bc I have been there in Geoguessr ä handful of times but maybe I should look up the Potbelly shop for extra mnemonic information.

Apartheid was "hatched" at Stellanbosch University in South Africa by Nazi sympathizers. Remember, Musk is a white South African. (This in no way disparages all white South Africans). I wonder where an idea for Orange man say land be returned to the white population in South Africa came from.

Stellanbosch Skarsgård would be my preference.

I love that this Zulu singing scene lasts so long. I love African singing.

Off topic, but here's a wonderful South African choir from Stellanbosch University singing Baba Yetu (the Lord's Prayer, but written for the Civilization computer game, as I recall!)
