my surgery sister (same date, same surgery) was back to normal significantly faster than I was, but she had stepkids and dogs and stuff to take care of, so she was motivated to push herself. The only complication I had was a dehiscence caused by clipping what turned out to be a suture knot.

The stepkids have tablets for things like flights, and can watch TV, but were generally raised without small screens. It's very satisfying clocking all the impressed looks when they're reading their books on the tube or in the corner of the pub

I was actually born in a neighboring state and we moved to NE just before I was 3. I just moved to my birth state because that’s where the grandkids & stepkids are.

And I think it depends on the kid, but you can start earlier than you'd imagine! I think at 3ish my stepkids were getting Wind In The Willows and The Worst Witch. At 4 they got Enid Blyton, Roald Dahl and Narnia (with some live-editing). They are now 9 and often reread these!

sometimes I wanna drop kick my kids and stepkids into the sun, specifically when I ask for dinner ideas and they all say they don't know or don't care... but those mfs DO be caring once the meal is ready.

I'm "childfree" (though i do have stepkids, i just had no interest in ever giving birth bc that's body horror for me), but I don't hate kids. I do hate bad parenting.

I made these cookies last night (Heath & chocolate chip). I thought they look pretty ugly, stepkids said they looked good and taste good. Idk if they were being nice, their mom makes them better cookies. My husband liked these but he eats anything! 😂

Very seriously: the biggest issue with the referendum to see if we need a referendum is that MOST PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW THIS IS HAPPENING.
