This crate is a perfect example of the wonderful work carried out by our Workshop Technicians. So far it has been used to transport around 2,350 objects across Cambridge as part of our Stores Move project.

It was an extraordinary experience to watch the folds of this tipi unfurling to reveal the beautiful design painted on its surface. After over 95 years the colours were still vibrant! 1/2

Amongst the 2,512 artefacts recently moved by our project team was an urn dating from 1000-1500CE. Historically reconstructed using excavated sherds, it was used as a burial urn. The fragility of this object meant the team took extra care whilst moving it.
