STRATCOM announce they will now issue nuclear orders by podcast

I just cannot overstate what a dead end this is, in terms of PA and stratcom work.

ICBMs require overflight of some people we don't want to be in the business of shooting ballistic missiles at/over, so in this hypothetical STRATCOM straight up wouldn't present it as even a throwaway COA

Boomers are possible but they'd require one to leave their usual patrol boxes

* As per its new controversial stratcom doctrine, Ukraine Air Force no longer announces the total daily number of Russian ballistic missiles launched at Ukraine - in order to limit panic misinformation on social media.

Instead, total *monthly* figures are published.

I don't think it'd get to the level of launch officers: I have faith that the order wouldn't get through STRATCOM. Sure hope it never gets tested.

No one knows, but my probabilities for Trump succeeding in nuking Iran are:

Chance he wants to do it 5%
That he gives the order 20% of 5.
The order doesn’t get stopped by Hegseth 10% of 20
STRATCOM doesn’t “disobey” 10% of 10

Total: 0.01%

Same as guessing someone’s four-digit PIN on 1st attempt

Flournoy had also written in a 2023 Foreign Affairs article that STRATCOM used Rhombus tools to warn of nuclear-armed missile movements.

Records show that effort had ended long before publication. A former official said Rhombus “failed to deliver what Flournoy wrote about.”

RT @DefenceGeek: An interesting movement overnight caught by @AUX_OSINT and others... the US STRATCOM exercise has ended so this is not related to that... however I must emphasise this was a training sortie - the B-2s did not fly to Iran despite what some accounts are claiming!! (2/3)

Our default setting is to be critical here... We are next to Russia & supporting Ukraine. Religious faiths or beliefs are respected & protected by the US Constitution, & by the UN Declaration of Human Rights. We are on the same page. Thanks, here is info. about Russian trolls:

For what it's worth, the admiral presently in charge of STRATCOM doesn't strike me as either stupid, suicidal, or even a MAGA loyalist. I also rather suspect that many members of the military aren't suicidal.

Chump's order to launch a nuke at Iran would be an unlawful order. Is there enough integrity left in command at Stratcom (the command that controls the nukes) to turn down the order? I love my Air Force and we are the best and brightest. I truly hope so or tomorrow night could be a nuclear tantrum.

homeland and has no nuclear weapon is the clearest example of an unlawful order that exists.

Every officer between the Oval Office and a B-2 cockpit has been trained on exactly this scenario. STRATCOM has spent years, quietly, thinking about refusal.
