#StrikeOutStigma
Today is World Diabetes Day. I’m proud to support @DiabetesUK’s call to #StrikeOutStigma. No one should face negative attitudes because of diabetes – yet 8 in 10 people say they have, and it’s affecting the care they receive. This must change.

In this #WorldDiabetesDay I want to recognise those living with diabetes across Scotland.

The #StrikeOutStigma campaign reminds us that no one should feel ashamed of living with diabetes. Stigma has no place in our communities or our healthcare system.

Insulin is essential for people with T1 diabetes and some people with T2 diabetes.

Missed or delayed insulin can lead to serious illness. In forensic settings, ensuring timely access to insulin is a critical patient safety issue.

🩸 Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition where the body can no longer produce insulin.
